Poetry has been my focus for nearly three decades though my early career was in education and psychology with a Bachelors and Masters from Boston University.
For more than a decade, I've been working on an epic poem tracing the inner life of Abraham Lincoln called "Mandala". The Sanskrit word 'mandala' basically means a circle. Psychologists, starting with Karl Jung have used the word to refer to circular images that are drawn, painted or even danced. Metaphorically, these images have to do with harmony and totality.
I've given seminars in poetry and poetic technique for a range of ages and experiences. Because my own work often utilizes forms that are rarely used, I developed a unique presentation centering on my crown of sonnets written as a tribute to Michelangelo's great fresco, "The Last Judgment". The seminar stimulated the creation of an hour long, award winning film called "Laurels" which fuses my sonnets with the art of the fresco. A presentation of poetry from my collection, "Afflicted Love", resulted in the development of another film called "The Force of Poetry". Both films have been recommended by Maine Public Broadcasting. I've provided professional editing services for many years and I consider poetry to be an ideal background for an editor because poetry's power is in the distillation of words. Poetry is a continual effort to achieve greater power through the use of less words.

I'm working to finish an epic poem on the inner life of Abraham Lincoln called "Mandala". I'm also developing a trilogy of plays in verse on the destruction of Solomon's Temple.
With my wife and business partner, Toni Seger, I'm working with an actor, Jeff Flint, on professional readings of my prose and poetry for selling as CD's and DVD's.
