EASTPORT Arts Center, Eastport , MAINE

NON-Profit Organization, Art Director, Multi-media Artist, Theatre

Creative Works

Eastport Arts Center Mission: “To stimulate and nurture an appreciation of the visual and performing arts and the creative process, and to provide a home and an environment within which they can prosper.”

In 1985, a small group of local artists opened a gallery in downtown Eastport, occasionally offering concerts and films. Artists, both visual and performing, began to move to town, and in 1990, Stage East's community theater was born.

In 2004, the Eastport Arts Center
purchased a permanent home, an 1837 church, formerly known as the Washington Street Baptist Church. Its 9,200 square feet houses six of the seven constituent art groups as well as space for community use.

We have seven constituent programs who use the Arts Center: our theater group Stage East, our youth symphony Eastport Strings, our adult/youth symphony Passamaquoddy Bay Symphony, our educational programs ArtsBloomNorthern Lights Film Society, our art gallery (which is actually located on Water Street) Eastport Gallery and The Concert Series.

ArtsBloom 2008 Summer Workshops

What is ArtsBloom?

Like the beautiful wildflowers that bloom in this seaside community, the arts

flourish in Eastport. ArtsBloom, a constituent program of the Eastport Arts Center, invites the whole community to enjoy that creative process.

d

We hope that you find something that you will enjoy learning over the summer.  Since space is limited in each workshop, please sign up as soon as possible to ensure a spot in the class.
