Bird's Mesh Thistle Feeder
Here in Hancock, Maine, the American goldfinch and pine siskin with occasionally a nuthatch or so enjoy eating their thistles from my (roughly) 3" by 10" mesh feeder.
I find they do best here when I have two feeders. Then, whenever it rains, I exchange one I have full of fresh thislte and bring the wet one in and shake it out to dry for the next rain. Orange and Gold Place Mats
This was one of the pieces I made by weaving fabric lengths first made into tubes and pulled through so that when ironed flat were finished on both sides. The weaving was a fussy project (I'm not an overly patient person) but the stars came out rather nicely. These placemats are 13 1/4" by 15 3/4". I suggest they be hand washed and gently dried.
